Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi announced Feb. 13 that the king has given the green light for the dissolution of parliament, and all local governments have been instructed to dissolve their parliaments.
The announcement comes two days after Stratfor sources in Kuala Lumpur said Badawi could dissolve parliament Feb. 13 in light of his falling approval ratings, which dropped from 71 percent to 61 percent in December 2007.
