Kuwait’s government resigned March 17. The country’s Cabinet and parliament have each been sent packing a number of times over the last three years due to infighting within the legislature, and therefore it is not a sign of any significant instability within the country. The ongoing struggle is between the ruling al-Sabah family and the emirate’s non-royal political elite over the allocation of economic benefits. While the Kuwaiti factions battle it out among themselves, they remain careful to keep their feud from affecting international business.
