Russia and Ukraine reportedly will attempt to restart production of a Soviet-era Antonov transport aircraft.
Russia and Ukraine reportedly have made a final agreement to resume joint production of the An-124 Ruslan strategic transport aircraft (known to NATO as the “Condor”) in 2008, Russian Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov said April 28.
There have been rumblings and attempts to do this for several years, and of course, this is easier said than done. But the prospect warrants consideration, and will provide a useful gauge for measuring the status of the Russian and Ukrainian aviation industries.
