Several thousand people demonstrated in central Sapporo, Japan, on July 5 to protest the G8 summit slated to begin the week of July 6 at a luxury hotel 45 miles away, Reuters reported. A police source told Reuters the protesters were numbered between 2,000 abd 3,000.
